What a day!
Phew! I am beat.
I started my first day of work experience today. I was kind of nervous to begin with, because I missed a bus. I was just thinking to myself, Oh "enter lots of swearwords here", I'm going to be sooooo late... but I wasn't. I got there in good time, despite me walking fast.
I was introduced to different teachers (I went to a school, if you didn't know), and they were really friendly. Then I went to go and see the kids I would be working with, and they were lovely. They made me feel really confident and asked me lots of questions. We went into the classroom and I helped them on their research on rainforests and stuff. It was really fun.
After playtime (god, I miss playtime at school), we went to the pond and looked at insects. It was really hot and I got a mild attack of bloody hayfever, but I was alright and we had a drink when we got back. Then we had lunch, and I took refuge int he classroom because it was cool and quiet, and I had a headache so I needed a bit of time to sit and write about stuff I had done.
After lunch, we were divided into groups and some of the class (including me) went into the class next door to help out with making masks for people to wear for the play they were doing in a few weeks. It was really fun and we mucked about with the paint and stuff. I felt like I was a little kid again.
We went back to our normal classroom and talked about what we did and I cleaned myself up (I had paint all down my arm!). Then we went to the hall to practice the songs they were signing for the play. They were so enthusiastic!
Then they got ready to go home and thanked me and a few people gave me hugs and stuff. It was so sweet; I had to stop myself from crying!
Honestly, I am so looking forward to tomorrow. I can't wait!
I have a million and one things to do before the day is out, so I'll end this.
Until next time,
Rosie
